Red-Bellied Woodpecker

Red-Bellied Woodpeckers are about the size of a Hairy Woodpecker. They have red eyes, red on their heads, and red on their bellies, which is often difficult to see. The males have red on their head that extends from the the base of their beak to about the top of their back. The females have a large area of grey on the top of their head, instead of a solid red area. They can be seen year-round here.
